B. Monchengladbach vs Hoffenheim prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-08-05 13:30.
Borussia Mönchengladbach kick-off their Bundesliga campaign against the team they beat 5-1 on the final day of 2021/22, Hoffenheim. Despite recording the best-ever H2H win between these sides, Gladbach actually ended up finishing directly below Hoffenheim in tenth place that campaign, their lowest finish since 2010/11, a disappointment that led to a change in management and the appointment of Daniel Farke as their new manager.

The former Norwich City boss got off to the best possible start as his new side hammered minnows Oberachern 9-1 in the German Cup last weekend, their biggest win for four years. It has been a quiet transfer window for the club though, limited to the signings of Ko Itakura from Manchester City and Midtjylland youngster Oscar Fraulo.

Hoffenheim didn’t have such luck in the German Cup as they needed extra-time to squeeze past Rödinghausen, eventually winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Ozan Kabak and Grischa Prömel. They will now target a rare victory over BMG, who they have beaten just three times in their last 17 meetings (D8, L6).

After a ninth-placed finish in the Bundesliga last year, Hoffenheim too have changed manager, with André Breitenreiter replacing Sebastian Hoeneß. Recent cup goalscorer Prömel, alongside Finn Ole Becker, is one of two summer signings as they target European qualification for the fourth time in their history, but to do so they will surely have to improve on an away record of W5, D3, L9 from 2021/22.

Players to watch: Gladbach’s Alassane Pléa has bagged three goals and four assists in seven appearances against Hoffenheim, but has only been on the winning side twice (D4, L1). Meanwhile, Andrej Kramarić has scored in three of his four games against BMG across the last two seasons, with just one of those matches ending in defeat (W2, D1).

Hot streak: Gladbach are undefeated in their opening home league game for six seasons running (W3, D3)
