Wolves Fulham prediction 2022-08-13

Wolves vs Fulham prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2022-08-12 14:00.
With optimism thick in the air, Wolves made a sour start to their Premier League (PL) campaign with a 2-1 loss to Leeds. They will now be looking to avoid a repeat of last season, when they lost their opening three games, although maybe more significant is the fact that they are now eight successive league contests without a win (D2, L6).

For a side famed for its defensive prowess, Bruno Lage’s men are also ten PL games without a clean sheet and have been wilting late on, conceding at least one second-half goal in nine games during that run. There is at least some positive news regarding the £27.5m signing of winger Gonçalo Guedes who is capturing the imagination of Wolves fans and fantasy league managers alike.

Fulham produced an impressive 2-2 draw against Liverpool in their PL curtain raiser, avoiding an opening-day defeat for the first time in three PL attempts, with forward Aleksandar Mitrović netting both goals against the Reds. However, the club will want to lower their reliance on the Serbian, who has scored ten of their last 18 league goals, and turn draws into wins after triumphing in a joint-league low five PL games when they were last relegated in 2020/21!

That fateful season, Fulham held the joint-lowest ‘top goalscorers’ for any side (Bobby Reid-G5) alongside Wolves (Rúben Neves and Pedro Neto)! However, Fulham became only the second side in 20 years to score more than 100 goals in the second division last season, so we can perhaps bank on more top-flight goals this campaign from Marco Silva’s men.

Players to watch: Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan’s assist against Leeds marked his first goal involvement in the PL since March. Quite the contrast to Mitrović, who now has 44 goals in 45 league matches since the start of 2021/22, a whopping 15 more than any other forward in England's top four tiers!

Hot stat: Fulham have won just one league encounter in the last 12 against Wolves, managing just one clean sheet.
