Stuttgart Freiburg prediction 2022-08-20

Stuttgart vs Freiburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-08-19 13:30.
After escaping relegation by the skin of their teeth last season, Stuttgart seem destined to make a fight out of this campaign too, having drawn their opening two Bundesliga games after conceding first in both. On one hand, conceding an equaliser in the 95th minute to Werder Bremen last time out would’ve stung, but on the other, it didn’t change the fact Stuttgart remain undefeated after their opening two top-flight matches for the first time since 2011/12.

The Reds last successfully negotiated the opening three Bundesliga matchdays without a loss in 2004/05, and a return home, where they’ve experienced only one defeat in their last seven (W3, D3), might play a pivotal role in re-writing history. The Mercedes-Benz Arena has seen anything but an A-class in defending though, with Stuttgart having conceded in a club-record 22 straight home Bundesliga matches!

Opponents Frieburg were looking good to open their Bundesliga campaign with two wins when leading Dortmund in their last match up until the 77th minute, but they caved and conceded three goals in 11 minutes to end up losing 3-1. That capitulation will no doubt bother long-time manager Christian Streich, whose side only lost one game in the entirety of last season after scoring first (W15, D2).

Freiburg have proven themselves tough to beat on the road as well, with their opening day 4-0 thumping at Augsburg meaning they have just one defeat to their name in their last ten away matches (W7, D2). Streich will fancy his side can continue this form when travelling to Stuttgart then, considering they’ve won each of the last four Bundesliga meetings.

Players to watch: Having scored in the last game, Stuttgart’s Silas will be looking to use that confidence and add to his tally of two goals in three appearances against Freiburg, whose new signing Michael Gregoritsch has scored the match opener in his last two games.

Hot stat: All three of Stuttgart's games this season have seen them open their account in the 15 minutes preceding half-time.
