Cremonese Torino prediction 2022-08-27

Cremonese vs Torino prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2022-08-26 16:30.
Hosting their first Serie A (SA) home match since 1996, newly-promoted Cremonese continue to hunt for their first point of the campaign (L2) by welcoming Torino. Fortunately they bring some brilliant home form from the second tier, having lost just once in their last 15 outings at the Giovanni Zini, although they didn’t keep a clean sheet in any of the final six home outings of the campaign (W4, D1, L1).

Conceding three goals in a campaign-opening defeat to Fiorentina was hardly ideal then, but Cremonese were valiant in a 1-0 loss to Roma last time out, with coach Massimiliano Alvini stating that he felt “sorry” for his players. There’s no time for self-pity here though, as they’ll want to dodge defeat in order to avoid commencing a league campaign with three losses for the first time this century!

Torino maintained their unbeaten start to the league season (W1, D1) after a 0-0 draw with Lazio, although this marked the first time they had failed to score in three consecutive SA home games since 2012. They tend to flourish on their travels however, and hold some ruthless recent SA form – winning four of their last six away trips (D2) whilst conceding just one goal or less on five of those occasions.

They’ve also struck the first goal in five games during that run, which might worry a Cremonese side who have lost the last four games when conceding the opener. And even if Torino were to ship first in Lombardy, it may not phase them as they are eight SA away games unbeaten when both sides have scored (W3, D5)!

Key battle: New goalkeeper Ionuț Radu will desperately want to keep his first Cremonese clean sheet after three games without (W1, L2), doing so would help his side avoid consecutive home league defeats for the first time since January 2021. He’ll be looking to thwart Torino danger man Antonio Sanabria, who has an impressive three goal contributions from his last two SA away appearances (G2, A1).

Hot stat: Torino travel here as favourites, but last season they recorded just a 33% win rate when starting as away favourites in SA (W3, D3, L3).
