Almeria Sevilla prediction 2022-08-27

Almeria vs Sevilla prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2022-08-26 20:00.
A week after their heartbreaking La Liga (LL) defeat to Real Madrid, AlmerĂa sacrificed the lead for a second successive match in a 1-1 draw away to Elche. The 2021/22 Segunda DivisiĂłn winners, who took the lead on an joint second league-high 28 occasions in their second-flight league campaign last season, continue to secure advantages without that elusive first LL victory – the last of which came back in 2014/15.

Manager Rubi still believed Almería were “closer to winning the game” after half-time but accepted the result as “fair”. He is hoping to have more new foreign signings such as Marko Milovanovic and Gui Guedes registered in time to boost their matchday squad against visiting Sevilla, whilst also trying desperately to hold on to highly-sought Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq.

The visitors make the relatively short trip to Almería in a particularly vulnerable position, failing to win either of their first two matches of a new LL season for the first time since finishing seventh in 2015/16. As the pre-season rumours of his tenure ending in 2022/23 resurface, it’d be a great time for Julen Lopetegui to preserve his perfect 3-0 H2H record against Almería boss Rubi.

After two rounds, they remain only one of eight travelling favourites to not have won after losing 1-2 away to Osasuna in their first outing of the campaign. Considering they had one of LL’s most underwhelming records as away favourites last season, drawing more matches than any other club under such circumstances (W5, D7, L1) – including 1-1 draws away to all three newly promoted clubs – these situations are a key area for Sevilla to improve if they want to challenge the top two again.

Players to watch: Almería have now claimed points from their last 17 league fixtures (W14, D3) when the aforementioned Umar Sadiq finds the back of the net. Rafa Mir, Sevilla’s last away goalscorer, also recorded a goal in one of Sevilla’s 1-1 LL away draws against promoted teams last season.

Hot streak: Sevilla’s last nine LL games have either been drawn or decided by a one-goal margin.
