Cardiff Hull prediction 2022-09-10

Cardiff vs Hull prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-09-09 14:00.
Under-pressure Cardiff manager Steve Morison insists he is “not worrying” about his side’s form, despite criticising his players for having a “soft underbelly” following their 2-0 defeat at Millwall last weekend. That result means Cardiff, who the boss tipped for a promotion push, are on a run of five games without a victory (D2, L3), and begin the weekend occupying the final relegation spot.

The Bluebirds can perhaps draw confidence from their reasonably strong home record to propel them closer towards where Morison tipped them to be, given they have lost only four of their last 15 league games at the Cardiff City Stadium (W7, D4). However, goals are a big problem for the South Welsh outfit, who have netted just once in nearly nine hours of football and may hand a start to deadline day signing Callum Robinson in a bid to offset that goalshy nature.

Opponents Hull have problems at the other end of the field, with their total of 15 goals conceded the most in the Championship after matchday eight. Indeed, defeat to Sheffield United last weekend led to manager Shota Arveladze admitting “we have to balance between attack and defence”, as they have scored in all bar two of their nine matches, but won just three (D2, L4).

The Tigers also have a worrying record on the road, where they have picked up just two draws from five matches so far this season (L3). They did, however, win at this venue last year, one of four victories in their last seven visits to the Cardiff City Stadium (L3), though Hull will need a new hero as that goal was scored by the now departed Keane Lewis-Potter.

Players to watch: Robinson has never lost in six meetings with Hull (W5, D1), scoring one goal in the process. Meanwhile Tigers striker Óscar Estupiñán remains the top scorer in the Championship with his seven goals incredibly coming from just three scoring appearances.

Hot stat: Cardiff have not won any of the last nine games in which they have conceded the first goal (D1, L8).
