Eintracht Frankfurt Wolfsburg prediction 2022-09-10

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Wolfsburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-09-09 13:30.
Reigning UEFA Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt appeared to have put a four-game winless start to the 2022/23 campaign behind them with back-to-back league wins, yet had something of a reality check when losing 3-0 to Sporting at home in Europe. The home fans unfurled a huge banner with the words “Frankfurt makes trouble” ahead of that defeat, and if they can return to the form that saw them score eight goals across their last two league games including thrashing RB Leipzig 4-0 last weekend, then they may do just that here for Wolfsburg.

The schedule has been kind to Frankfurt of late with this being their third consecutive home game, but with a crucial Champions League trip to Marseille just three days after this, Oliver Glasner may decide to ring the changes. A strong start could be the route to success for Frankfurt considering both their league wins have come after a half-time lead, and they might need that against a side they’ve lost five of their last six home H2H league meetings against (W1).

Without any European commitments this season, Wolfsburg arrive with fresher legs and no distractions other than Bundesliga matters. Not that an easier schedule has helped the Wolves yet, as they remain winless after five Bundesliga games, a far cry from their five-game unbeaten starts in each of the last three campaigns.

Further highlighting Wolfsburg’s apparent decline is the fact that they’ve lost their opening two Bundesliga away games for the first time since 2013/14, and are the only Bundesliga side yet to score on their travels. It’s not the ideal start for new boss Niko Kovač, but he will be happy to inflict some misery upon Frankfurt, a side he took to two cup finals during his first job in Germany, and against whom he has a positive record in personal H2Hs (W3, L1).

Players to watch: Randal Kolo Muani has contributed to a club record six goals in his first five Bundesliga games for Frankfurt (G2, A4). With three of Wolfsburg’s four league goals so far, Lukas Nmecha is the highest contributing player to a Bundesliga team total ahead of the round (75%).

Hot stat: Frankfurt (54) and Wolfsburg (52) have taken the second and third fewest shots in the Bundesliga this season.
