Bodo/Glimt Zurich prediction 2022-09-15

Bodo/Glimt vs Zurich prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2022-09-14 19:00.
Times are tough of late for Norwegian champions Bodø/Glimt, who are currently on a three-match winless run (D1, L2), culminating in a 3-2 defeat against Tromsø at the weekend. It’s far from ideal preparation ahead of Bodø/Glimt’s first ever encounter against Swiss opposition, but the visit of Zürich is somewhat overshadowed by a question mark over the future of boss Kjetil Knutsen, who is linked to the vacant Brighton post.

If Knutsen is to leave for pastures new, then extending Bodø/Glimt’s perfect winning European home run to 14 games would certainly be a fitting parting gift. An aggregate score of 40-4 across their 13 previous European home matches indicates just how dominant Bodø/Glimt are on home turf, but having conceded six goals across their last two Eliteserien home games, prolonging that run certainly isn’t a foregone conclusion.

Swiss champions ZĂźrich certainly gave a good account of themselves on UEFA Europa League (UEL) matchday one, but ultimately fell to a 2-1 defeat against Arsenal. Having gone down 4-2 against Servette at the weekend, ZĂźrich have now lost four successive games, but the prospects of avoiding defeat here appear plentiful considering they have never lost their opening two group stage matches in a major UEFA European competition.

For good or for bad, records are there to be broken, and eight defeats from Zürich’s 12 previous UEL group stage games (W1, D3), would indicate that record could topple here. There is a glimmer of hope for Zürich though after they won their two UEL away qualifiers ‘to nil’ this term, and with only one side managing to score in six of Zürich’s last seven UEL games, the first goal here takes on added importance.

Players to watch: Bodø/Glimt’s last two European goals have been scored by Albert Grønbæk, both were his team’s only goal of the game, whilst four of Aiyegun Tosin’s Zürich goals this season have come before the break.

Hot streak: Bodø/Glimt have conceded once in all four of their prior UEL home games.
