Valladolid Cadiz CF prediction 2022-09-16

Valladolid vs Cadiz CF prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2022-09-15 19:00.
Having already let both a potential win at Sevilla (1-1) and draw away to Girona (1-2) slip by conceding after the 85th minute, Real Valladolid could have been a mid-table club after five La Liga (LL) matchdays if things had gone differently, instead of sitting at the edge of the relegation zone. However that Girona loss was just the 13th defeat suffered by the club from 50 matches in all competitions under the management of Pacheta, who has suffered back-to-back defeats just once since October 2021.

“I’m sure we’ll win a lot of games if we keep playing like this,” Pacheta declared after angrily questioning why a penalty was not given to Gonzalo Plata in the loss to Girona, leaving them lamenting a winless D1, L3 record as underdogs this LL season, a record that further illustrates just how underwhelming their start has been. At least they won’t start as outsiders for this clash, but four matches without a win against Cádiz (D3, L1) shows recent H2H form is disappointing too, and the victory they desperately need to avoid a fifth consecutive LL season with one or no wins after six rounds is by no means guaranteed.

That recent history may be rendered worthless by Cádiz’s five consecutive losses to begin the new LL season, the most recent of which was 4-0 at home to giants Barcelona. Not only is that their worst five-game start to a new league campaign in any division this century, but Cádiz have now unwillingly set a new LL record for the most dismal opening five rounds in the league’s entire history in terms of points gained (zero), goal difference (-14) and goals scored (zero). They’re even the only remaining club across Europe’s top-five divisions yet to score a league goal in 2022/23!

It is almost as though Cádiz have just 45 minutes of competitive football in them per game, as ten of their last 11 LL goals conceded came after half-time. If they can’t bounce back with points against fellow strugglers Valladolid, manager Sergio potentially faces the painful prospect of being sacked after defeat to a club he managed for more than three years.

Players to watch: Valladolid midfielder Óscar Plano was their only goalscorer in the two H2H meetings in 2020/21, whilst Rubén Alcaraz could make his first start of 2022/23 by taking on his former club, after he made a brief return from injury coming off the bench against Barcelona.

Hot streak: Valladolid have scored one or no goals in each of their last ten LL outings.
