Poland Netherlands prediction 2022-09-22

Poland vs Netherlands prediction: EUROPE: UEFA Nations League – League A betting tips on match 2022-09-21 18:45.
Czesław Michniewicz’s Poland can only hope for survival in UEFA Nations League A (UNL) and can achieve that with victory here. With main man Robert Lewandowski firing on all cylinders for club side Barcelona, Michniewicz will hope that his star man can replicate that form in a Poland shirt to fire his nation to safety here in Warsaw after he missed the reverse H2H against the Netherlands (2-2), in which Poland let slip a two-goal lead.

Poland’s home form in the UNL has been less than impressive, with just two wins from seven games since the inaugural edition (D1, L4). One of those wins came against the lowest-ranked side they’ve faced, #57-ranked Bosnia, while their only home point against a top-ten ranked nation was a goalless draw against Italy, so securing that survival-sealing victory here may be tough.

Following an unbeaten start to this UNL campaign (W3, D1), the Netherlands find themselves on the precipice of a second UNL finals appearance, and know a victory here coupled with Belgium failing to win would seal that outcome. Despite Louis van Gaal previously branding this competition as “crazy”, the Netherland’s have taken the UNL seriously, losing just one of their last ten UNL group stage games (W6, D3), including three-straight away wins in UEFA’s newest international competition.

Now unbeaten in 13 internationals, their best run since a 17-game streak between 2012-13, the Oranje should travel to Warsaw with supreme confidence. Expect them to battle to the bitter end to preserve that unbeaten run too, with both of the Netherlands’ two winning goals across the last three games arriving in second-half stoppage time, and they even missed a 91st minute penalty in the reverse fixture against Poland!

Players to watch: Lewandowski is already in double figures after just eight Barcelona appearances (G11), and will now hope to record his first ever win against the Netherlands after the prior two ended in 2-1 defeats. As for the Oranje, Memphis Depay missed a potentially game-winning penalty in the reverse but has scored three goals in as many UNL appearances this year.

Hot stat: Poland have won just three of the last 18 H2H encounters (W3, D7, L8) which includes a current 11-game winless run.
