Liverpool Brighton prediction 2022-10-01

Liverpool vs Brighton prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2022-09-30 14:00.
Liverpool enjoyed a longer break than most considering their Premier League (PL) match prior to the international break was postponed, with their fans hoping the extra time off will help in shaking off their early season cobwebs. Jürgen Klopp’s men already have a mountain to climb if they’re to reignite a title challenge, and failure to win here could prove to be an early nail in that coffin, while also resulting in their worst seven-match league start in a decade!

The Reds can always count on their beloved Anfield faithful to serve as their 12th man in tough times though, having gone undefeated in their last 26 PL home games (W20, D6) whilst keeping 15 clean sheets along the way. However, they only managed one shutout in their last five matches (W3, D2) conceding first in each of the other four, something Liverpool wouldn’t necessarily want to do against a tough Brighton side.

If Liverpool look four points and four places above them in the PL table, they’ll see opponents Brighton, who face Liverpool in a top-flight match whilst higher than them in the standings for only the second time in their history! The Seagulls have flocked to Anfield with some success recently too, going unbeaten in their last two visits (W1, D1), though both results came under the guidance of the now departed Graham Potter.

The big question remains how Brighton will fare after Potter’s departure, with former Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk manager Roberto De Zerbi taking over for what is his first job in England. Luckily De Zerbi adopts a squad who have only lost twice in their last 15 PL fixtures (W9, D4), and toppling Liverpool at Anfield in his first ever PL match would be the perfect way to introduce himself to the Brighton faithful.

Players to watch: After a poor start to the season by his standards, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah might target this game given his 11 goal contributions (G6, A5) in ten PL matches against Brighton, whose Leandro Trossard has a goal and an assist in his last two visits to Anfield.

Hot stat: Only two of Liverpool’s last 12 matches have failed to see goals scored in both halves.
