RB Leipzig Bochum prediction 2022-10-01

RB Leipzig vs Bochum prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-09-30 13:30.
A new manager has done little to change the fortunes of RB Leipzig, with new boss Marco Rose losing two of his first three matches at the helm, including a 3-0 loss at Gladbach in their last outing. Die Roten Bullen’s awful start to the Bundesliga season (W2, D2, L3) leaves them in the unusual position of being in the bottom half of the table, just three points clear of the relegation zone. Sorting a leaky defence will be one of Rose’s early priorities, with three of Leipzig's last four losses seeing them concede at least three times.

A return to the Red Bull Arena ought to instil confidence though, as Leipzig are unbeaten here this season (W2, D1) after recording back-to-back wins without conceding. This is a fixture that Leipzig also love as they’ve won all of the previous seven H2H meetings, with each of the last three coming ‘to nil’, giving fans reason to believe they could get their season back on track here.

Heiko Butscher’s first game in charge at Bochum was a relative success as it ended in a first point of the season, ending a run of seven consecutive Bundesliga losses. Nineteen goals conceded from their first seven games is the worst in the division, leaving Die Unabsteigbaren cut adrift at the bottom of the table. Three wins from their last 16 Bundesliga games puts into perspective the slide Bochum are on (D2, L11), with their positive start to life back in the top tier becoming a distant memory.

Butscher will hope the international break will have enabled him to get his ideas across to the team and build on their first point of the season. Three of their five league goals have actually come on the road this term, with two of the defeats only via a single-goal margin, and they do have history of upsetting the league’s elite sides on their own patch, as they upset Borussia Dortmund in a seven-goal thriller at the Signal Iduna Park back in April.

Players to watch: Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku has carried on his impressive form this season, and scored three times in last season’s H2Hs. Bochum’s new striker Philipp Hofmann may be yet to break his Bundesliga duck, but he directly contributed to 12 goals in his last 14 league games last season (G10, A2).

Hot stat: Leipzig veteran Yussuf Poulsen has appeared in all seven previous H2H meetings, scoring on three occasions.
