Werder Bremen B. Monchengladbach prediction 2022-10-01

Werder Bremen vs B. Monchengladbach prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-09-30 16:30.
Nine points after seven Bundesliga games (W2, D3, L2) represents a solid start to life back in the top-flight for Werder Bremen, despite only one of those points being collected on home turf. Addressing that home form will be high on boss Ole Werner’s list of priorities, though having picked up more points away (33) than at home (30) in their 2. Bundesliga promotion campaign last season, it maybe isn’t a concern just yet.

Bremen’s faltering Bundesliga home form was their undoing in their last top-flight campaign too, losing five of their last six (D1) on their way to relegation. The visit of Borussia Mönchengladbach is unlikely to provide much respite on that front either as Bremen are winless in the last 11 Bundesliga H2Hs (D3, L8), and it was in fact Gladbach who relegated the Green-Whites in this very fixture back in 2020/21!

With just one Bundesliga defeat to their name so far this season (W3, D3), Gladbach may be quietly confident of securing a first top-four finish since 2019/20. That confidence may be tinged with a little disappointment though, as two of those three draws saw Gladbach squander the lead in the final ten minutes and drop four points in the process, which should they have held on to, would’ve seen them sitting second ahead of the round.

However, still in the infancy of Daniel Farke’s reign as boss, seventh place coming into this clash is probably quite satisfying for the new coach, with a 3-0 victory over Leipzig prior to the international break a real statement of intent. Following that up with a victory on the road may not be so easy for Gladbach, who have peculiarly drawn five-straight Bundesliga away games despite leading in all four to witness scoring!

Players to watch: Bremen may look to Niclas Füllkrug for some late divine intervention as his last three Bundesliga goals arrived after the 85th minute. Third time’s a charm for Gladbach’s Marcus Thuram who has scored the game’s third goal in three of his four scoring club appearances this season.

Hot stat: No Bundesliga side has scored more goals beyond the 75th minute than Bremen’s eight this season.
