Hertha Berlin Hoffenheim prediction 2022-10-02

Hertha Berlin vs Hoffenheim prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-10-01 13:30.
Hertha Berlin were building some momentum before the international break (W1, D2) despite conceding late to draw 1-1 with Mainz last time out. While eager to pick up where they left off, their attention has been elsewhere in recent days as assistant manager Mark Fotheringham left to join Huddersfield Town and summer signing Jean-Paul Boëtius was diagnosed with testicular cancer.

They now have to try to regroup as they look for their first home Bundesliga win of the season (D2, L1), and while a repeat of last season’s 3-0 H2H victory here over Hoffenheim would be welcome, it seems unlikely as that was their first home H2H win since November 2015 (D2, L3).

It’s also a tall order as Hoffenheim have made an excellent start to the season, lying fourth going into the international break (W4, D1, L2), in what is their best seven-game start since 2017/18. They’ve also made headlines of a different sort after declaring their website won’t cover this winter’s World Cup to protest Qatar’s hosting of the global event.

They’ve probably not enjoyed reporting on their side’s poor away form either, as they’ve had just one league away win to write about across their last seven attempts (D1, L5), a run that started with that 3-0 defeat here last term. It’s not been dull though, as those games produced an average of 3.43 goals per game with match goals during both halves in five of those fixtures on the road.

Players to watch: Marco Richter’s last four goals for Hertha came after the 55th minute, but nobody’s scored more goals in this fixture than Hoffenheim’s Andrej Kramarić (nine), all of them contributing to wins or draws (W5, D2).

Hot stat: All seven of Hertha’s Bundesliga goals this term came from open play – they’re the only side yet to score from a free kick, penalty or own goal.
