Rennes vs Dyn. Kyiv prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2022-10-05 19:00.
Fenerbahçe’s stoppage-time goal broke the hearts of ten-man Rennes on UEFA Europa League (UEL) matchday two (D 2-2), but they are still level on points with the Turkish giants at the Group B summit. With three teams separated by just one point though, Rennes can’t afford another late collapse in their next two matches against basement-dwellers Dynamo Kyiv.

A seven-game unbeaten competitive run (W4, D3), culminating in a 3-1 victory over Strasbourg at the weekend, is a probable confidence booster for a Rennes side who are embarking upon a club-record fifth successive European campaign. An impressive recent 11-game continental run (W7, D3, L1 – excluding a win by forfeit) could also work in Rennes’ favour, though the hosts will be all too aware of their poor historical record against Ukrainian clubs (W1, L4) that includes two H2H losses.

After missing out on a third-straight UEFA Champions League group stage appearance, Dynamo’s European campaign has stalled after back-to-back UEL losses. The Ukrainians are probably now in ‘must win’ territory but on the back of four UEL defeats in a row, Dynamo now risk losing three consecutive group stage games in a single UEL campaign for the first time.

Dynamo have at least recovered on the domestic league stage to collect successive wins, form they now hope to transfer into Europe. They’ll have to swim against the tide though as just one win from their last eight UEL away games (D3, L4) suggests Dynamo have a tendency to struggle on the road.

Players to watch: Amine Gouiri warmed up for this match with Rennes’ last goal in their win last weekend, though three of his last four UEL strikes came in defeats. By contrast, Vitaliy Buyalskyi who assisted Dynamo’s last UEL goal has seen his side remain unbeaten (W6, D2) with his eight career UEL strikes.

Hot stat: There have been two or fewer goals in ten of Dynamo’s last 12 UEL matches, with six producing exactly two.
