Getafe Real Madrid prediction 2022-10-08

Getafe vs Real Madrid prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2022-10-07 19:00.
Getafe’s mini-revival stalled at the weekend as they succumbed to a 3-2 defeat against Valladolid and now start the round just three points clear of the relegation zone (W2, D1, L4). One of three sides to have received three red cards this La Liga (LL) campaign, perhaps poor discipline can shoulder some of the blame, but Getafe must keep their emotions in check if they’re to aim for a first top-half finish since 2019/20.

Three must be the magic number for Getafe, as that’s also how many goals they’ve scored in the last eight H2Hs against Real Madrid here (W1, D2, L5) although they’ve only lost one of the last four (W1, D2). Worryingly though, as they seek back-to-back home H2H wins for the very first time, Getafe have only won one of their last eight home LL games (D4, L3) – all four of those draws goalless!

Real Madrid got back to winning ways in midweek, following up last weekend’s disappointing 1-1 LL draw with Osasuna by beating Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 in the UEFA Champions League. Manager Carlo Ancelotti wants his side to be more clinical though, particularly as they’re still to keep a LL clean sheet this term, though it would seem the much-decorated boss isn’t overly concerned: “The important thing, though, is to create the chances,” he argued.

The reigning LL champions have created plenty of opportunities away from home this term, and are seeking their fifth consecutive LL road victory, with all four wins so far coming despite conceding exactly once. Real will be all too aware they last started a season with four straight LL away wins in 2017/18 too, only for them to lose their fifth match on the road, so they’ll hope history doesn’t repeat itself here.

Players to watch: Ex-Real Madrid forward Borja Mayoral is off the mark for the season, with his strike against Valladolid his fifth consecutive scoring appearance in which he bagged Getafe’s opener. As for Real Madrid, Vinícius Júnior completed their scoring in each of their last two fixtures.

Hot streak: Getafe are yet to win a second half at home in LL this term (2H: D2, L2).
