Bristol City Millwall prediction 2022-10-15

Bristol City vs Millwall prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-10-14 14:00.
Demanding a response after a five-game winless run (D1, L4), Bristol City manager Nigel Pearson shuffled the pack in Wednesday’s clash against Preston and was rewarded with a spirited 2-1 victory. The mid-table Robins can put pressure on the top-six should they follow that result up with another victory which Pearson sees as crucial, stating he doesn’t want his team “to be one of those up and down sides”.

A swift return to Ashton Gate is likely to be a booster for Bristol City who have won four of their last six Championship home games (D1, L1). The Robins won 3-2 against Millwall in this corresponding fixture last season and Pearson’s side now have the chance to rewrite the history books a little having not won consecutive home league H2Hs since 2006.

Despite playing a game less, Millwall are just a point behind Bristol City and travel on the back of a 2-0 win against Middlesbrough last weekend. In a jam-packed mid-table, a victory could see Millwall climb many places but the Lions haven’t won in consecutive matches this season, raising doubts over their prospects of a win here.

What makes Millwall’s trip even trickier is that they are travelling burdened with their joint-longest winless away run in the Championship since December 2018 (D6, L6). Two points from six away games this season makes bleak reading, but there’s hope of stopping that rot on this trip considering Millwall have won on two of their last three league visits to Ashton Gate (L1).

Key battle: Bristol City’s Andreas Weimann is yet to score in a win this campaign (D1, L2) but he did net a hat-trick in a 3-2 win in this fixture last season. He could be up against Millwall defender Jake Cooper who has an impressive personal Championship record against Bristol City (W6, D2, L2) only winning more games against Reading.

Hot stat: No side has won more points than Millwall this league campaign after trailing at half-time (W1, D1, L2).
