Burnley Swansea prediction 2022-10-15

Burnley vs Swansea prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-10-14 14:00.
After throwing four 1-0 leads away to draw 1-1 in their five Championship games prior, Burnley finally held on to claim an elusive 1-0 victory against Coventry in their last outing. In some psychological respects that was perhaps the best scoreline Burnley could’ve won by, but after describing the Championship as a “car crash” in the aftermath, boss Vincent Kompany will be all too aware there are no guarantees that the Clarets’ ten-match unbeaten league run (W4, D6) will be extended against Swansea.

That unbeaten league run is currently the longest in the EFL, but having lost five of the last six H2Hs against Swansea (W1), that streak surely comes under threat here. On the flip side though, Burnley are unbeaten in 19 Championship home games (W11, D8) and are lying in wait behind the league’s front-runners, so they will know that victory here would crank up the pressure with another midweek round on the horizon.

On the back of four-successive Championship wins, Swansea should make the long trip to East Lancashire full of confidence. This promises to be the sternest test yet of the Swans’ mettle, with all four of those victories coming against sides placed lower than Burnley. But having beaten a QPR side ranked higher than the Clarets already this season (1-0), albeit at home, Swansea may fancy their chances of an upset.

An impressive record as pre-match outsiders in the Championship this season (W3, D2, L2) would substantiate that claim, but with boss Russell Martin on the wanted list for the vacant West Brom post, a cloud hangs over Swansea’s head here. Irrespective of the managerial situation, you can expect the Swans to fight to the bitter end, with their two prior Championship away games (W2) seeing them net winners beyond the 88th minute.

Players to watch: Nathan Tella struck Burnley’s decisive goal against Coventry, with all five of his Burnley goals to date coming before the hour mark. It’s no secret Burnley tried to sign Swansea’s Michael Obafemi over the summer, but with his last six scoring appearances each seeing him score Swansea’s final or only goal of the game, could he haunt the Clarets here?

Hot stat: Swansea’s last eight Championship away games have seen an average of 3.75 goals per game.
