Watford Norwich prediction 2022-10-15

Watford vs Norwich prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-10-14 18:45.
Slaven Bilić hasn’t enjoyed the smoothest of starts to life as Watford manager, following up victory over Stoke City with defeats to Swansea City and Blackpool. The Hornets are now in the midst of a miserable run of results, winning just two of their last 11 games (D4, L5) in all competitions, dropping them into the bottom half of the Championship and exiting the Carabao Cup as a result.

However the visit of Norwich City may prove timely for this out-of-form Watford outfit, as they’ve won five of the last six meetings with the Canaries. A meeting between two sides relegated from the Premier League (PL) last year has already produced a win for Watford this season as they beat Burnley back in August, so there are certainly good omens for Bilić, who said he needs to see more ‘desire and fight’ from his players.

Norwich will be looking to get back to winning ways after their nine-match unbeaten streak came to an end at the hands of Preston North End last time out. A return of just one point from their last two games has seen the chasing pack close in on the automatic promotion places, as Dean Smith’s men aim for a third consecutive promotion to the PL.

If Norwich are to get back on the winning trail in this match we may well see their shooting boots in fine form, as they’ve scored at least three goals in each of their last five H2H victories. Three of those successes came at Vicarage Road, including a 3-0 win in January of this year, so the Canaries have good reason to think they’ll be singing again after full-time, especially as they remain unbeaten in four Championship games on the road (W3, D1).

Players to watch: Watford winger Ismaïla Sarr has been a thorn in Norwich’s side during his career, winning all four of his personal H2Hs, scoring three times in the process. Up against him will be Josh Sargent who netted twice on his last visit to Watford. He’s already scored seven times this season, including four match opening goals.

Hot streak: It’s been 11 meetings and over 11 years since this H2H last ended in a draw.
