Spezia vs Cremonese prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2022-10-15 13:00.
Spezia have been producing contrasting form at home compared to away in this Serie A (SA) campaign. The Ligurian side lost 2-0 at Monza last time out and have now failed to score in all five of their SA away matches this term (L5), yet they are still unbeaten at the Stadio Alberto Picco in all competitions (W3, D2)!
Luca Gotti’s side will hope to continue that strong home form in their first ever top-flight meeting with newly promoted Cremonese. Both teams have clashed regularly in the second-tier and with five of the last six H2Hs being won by the home side on the day, Spezia may feel particularly confident.
Cremonese held high-flying Napoli to a 1-1 draw until the 76th minute last time out, before a late collapse saw them eventually lose 4-1. The SA newcomers remain one of only two SA teams yet to register a win in their opening nine top-flight matches (D3, L6) and fears of an immediate return to Serie B are growing.
The visitors lost their opening three away SA matches, but have picked up two points in the following two such outings, including a respectable 1-1 draw against high-flying Atalanta. Despite their struggles so far, Cremonese’s determination can’t be faulted and they’ve averaged a league-high of nearly 20 tackles per game (19.9) to date.
Players to watch: M'Bala Nzola has already scored five competitive goals for Spezia this term, with three arriving between the 35th minute and half-time. Also in contention for an early goal is Cremonese forward David Okereke, who has scored three of his last four goals before the 25th minute.
Hot stat: There have been four first-half penalties across Cremonese’s last three matches.
