Union Berlin Dortmund prediction 2022-10-16

Union Berlin vs Dortmund prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-10-15 15:30.
Surprise Bundesliga leaders Union Berlin have enjoyed their best start to a top-flight season in their history, sitting two points clear at the top ahead of matchday ten after losing just once so far this term (W6, D2). Die Eisernen have proved a tough nut to crack, conceding just six goals from their nine outings, a record that no side in the division can match.

Urs Fischer’s men have been formidable at home in the Bundesliga for quite some time, losing just two of their last 37 games on their own turf (W21, D14), with those defeats coming at the hands of Bayern Munich and this game’s opponents Borussia Dortmund. Union did manage to win the other two H2H meetings on this ground at this level, so there’s plenty of reason for their fans to believe their dream start to the season can continue.

Dortmund travel to the capital on the back of a week that yielded no wins (D2), but the mood remains positive after a stoppage-time equaliser in Der Klassiker, as well as putting one foot in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League (UCL). Edin Terzic’s men are on an alarming slide in the Bundesliga though, winning just one of their last four games, conceding eight goals in the process.

BVB were one of two sides to do the league double over Union last season, including a 3-0 win in this fixture back in February. Captain Marco Reus scored a brace in that victory, but he’s one of a number of potential injury absences for the visitors, with Terzic stating that his side have to be “very precise” if they are to break down Union’s stubborn rearguard.

Players to watch: Union forward Sheraldo Becker has scored seven times this season, and he’s been on the losing side in just one of his 15 goalscoring appearances for the club (W12, D2). Standing in his way will be Dortmund starlet Jude Bellingham who is still waiting for his first Bundesliga strike of the season, but has netted in each of his four UCL games this term.

Hot stat: This fixture has produced an average of 3.83 goals per game in the Bundesliga.
