Leicester Leeds prediction 2022-10-20

Leicester vs Leeds prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2022-10-19 19:15.
With just one win to their name all season (D2, L7), time is of the essence for Leicester City, who welcome Leeds United to the King Power Stadium seeking to extend their unbeaten home league run to three games (W1, D1). Those results have perhaps kept Brendan Rodgers in a job, but with Leicester jointly-footing up the table ahead of the round, failure to claim a positive result here would mount even more pressure on the Foxes boss after being booed off following Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace.

Rodgers has long since cut the figure of a calm individual, but the pressure is perhaps now getting to him as he stormed out of a press conference in the wake of the draw against Palace. At least another home game may prove a little relief for the under-fire Northern Irishman, having overseen successive Premier League (PL) home clean sheets for the first time since December 2021.

Leeds certainly won’t travel in any mood to offer Rodgers some relief, in fact you could argue that they need the points equally as much as they’re amidst a terrible run. Two wins from three to open their PL campaign had Leeds fans dreaming of a return of those famous European nights, but fast-forward almost two months, and Leeds are on a six-match winless league run (D2, L4).

Despite a 1-0 defeat against Arsenal at the weekend, boss Jesse Marsch insisted he will “back his side all the way”, but that backing needs to quickly turn into points if Leeds are to arrest their dangerous slide towards the relegation zone. A winless streak in midweek (Tuesday-Thursday) PL action (D2, L4) doesn’t instil much confidence of that happening here considering they’ve conceded an eye-watering average of 3.83 goals per game across that run!

Players to watch: In the absence of the suspended James Maddison, Leicester could look to Harvey Barnes for inspiration having scored in all four of his Leicester PL appearances against Leeds. Leeds’ Luis Sinisterra returned from a suspension of his own against Arsenal and all three of his goals this season have been team openers.

Hot stat: Leicester are one of three PL clubs ahead of the round to have lost every game this season in which they have conceded first (L3).
