Nottingham vs Liverpool prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2022-10-21 11:30.
Nottingham Forest’s return to the Premier League (PL) for the first time this century has been far from a fairytale, as nine consecutive winless league matches (D3, L6) has left them firmly embedded in the relegation zone. Their problems span the length of the pitch unfortunately, despite their numerous summer signings, with only Wolves scoring less and Leicester conceding more PL goals than Forest’s current tally’s of seven and 23, respectively.
After back-to-back scoreless away trips, Forest return to the City Ground having accumulated the lowest amount of points at home thus far with just four (W1, D1, L3). That’s not a good omen when welcoming PL behemoths Liverpool, although nostalgic Forest fans of the 1990s might remember their side is surprisingly undefeated in their last eight top-flight home H2Hs (W3, D5).
But in today’s times it is Liverpool fans who’ll be the ones smiling, after a pair of 1-0 wins over Manchester City and West Ham secured their first three-game winning streak of the season to move them up to seventh. Those performances abruptly put an end to two alarming trends for Jürgen Klopp’s men, as not only have they now secured successive clean sheets for the first time this season, but also scored first after doing so only once in their first eight PL matches.
The Reds will use this momentum to try and muster their first league win on the road this season, backed by having scored in 31 of their last 33 away PL matches. Doing so will avoid some notorious history for Liverpool, as not since 2006/07 have they opened a PL campaign winless in their opening five away matches.
Players to watch: Forest’s Brennan Johnson has scored the match opener in six of his last eight goalscoring appearances, while Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez proved the match winner in midweek, and will be looking to make an impact once again since six of his last eight club goals have come away from home.
Hot streak: Liverpool are undefeated in their last nine PL matches vs promoted teams (W6, D3).
