Valencia Mallorca prediction 2022-10-22

Valencia vs Mallorca prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2022-10-21 16:30.
Three draws from their last four games leaves a bitter taste of ‘what could’ve been’ for Valencia, with the latest of those coming in a midweek 1-1 stalemate in Sevilla. The worrying aspect in each of those draws for Valencia is that they’ve spurned the lead on every occasion, points which had they held onto would’ve seen them come into the weekend in the top-four as opposed to their current position outside of the European places.

In spite of those disappointing draws, Valencia are now five matches unbeaten in La Liga (LL) (W2, D3) so will believe they can end a three-season absence from European competition. ‘Los Che’ may feel confident of extending that unbeaten run against a Mallorca side they haven’t tasted defeat against in the last four home H2Hs (W2, D2), though they did need two stoppage-time goals to salvage a draw in this fixture last season.

If Valencia’s form is inspiring, Mallorca’s certainly isn’t, with just one win in their last seven LL outings (D2, L4) as they continue to slide closer to the drop zone. Other than a 4-1 humbling at the hands of Real Madrid, each of Mallorca’s other defeats this season have all been decided by a single-goal margin, which does suggest they are close to finding some positive results, but boss Javier Aguirre will know they need to come sooner rather than later.

A 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad was the latest in that string of narrow defeats and marked the fourth match in succession in which Mallorca have conceded the opener. Conceding first tends to spell the beginning of the end for Aguirre’s side, who have claimed just a sole point after going 1-0 down this season (D1, L4), and perhaps more concerningly, three of those five opening strikes they have conceded came inside the first 15 minutes.

Players to watch: The effervescent Edinson Cavani has scored Valencia’s last three LL goals, each of which arrived before half-time. Mallorca may look to Antonio Sánchez for inspiration, but the midfielder has collected more yellow cards (four) than he has goal involvements this season (zero).

Hot streak: Valencia have scored exactly twice in the last four home H2Hs.
