Fiorentina Basaksehir prediction 2022-10-27

Fiorentina vs Basaksehir prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2022-10-26 16:45.
Fiorentina suffered a dramatic 4-3 defeat to Inter in their last league match which was settled by ‘another dubious refereeing decision’ in the eyes of frustrated manager Vincenzo Italiano. They will look to bounce back here with a win in UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) action, just as they did in their two most recent wins in the competition which both immediately came after domestic defeats.

That helped Fiorentina recover well from a disappointing start to their UECL campaign, and they now sit second with a four-point cushion over Hearts who they scored eight goals against across their two H2Hs (W2) meaning another win here would seal their place in the group’s top two. However, only two wins across their last seven home matches (D3, L2), including a disappointing 1-1 draw to Latvian minnows RFS, means this is far from a given.

Especially as they’re taking on Group A leaders İstanbul Başakşehir who are still unbeaten in the UECL this term (W7, D3 including qualifiers). The Turkish side are three points ahead of their opponents and remain the only team yet to concede a goal in this season’s competition, making them favourites to get at least a point which would secure top spot in the group.

There is hope for the hosts though as Başakşehir have suffered their first two defeats of the season in their last four competitive outings, one of which came in Süper Lig action at Fenerbahçe on Saturday (1-0). That being said, that was their first competitive away defeat since March (W8, D4) making them unwelcome guests for the Viola.

Players to watch: Luka Jović has scored three goals across his last five matches, including in both of Fiorentina’s previous UECL victories. Başakşehir’s Stefano Okaka returns to his native land with five UECL goals already to his name, three of which arrived after half-time (including qualifiers).

Hot stat: Fiorentina have produced the most shots on target during the opening four group stage matches of this UECL campaign (28).
