Hull Blackburn prediction 2022-10-29

Hull vs Blackburn prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-10-28 14:00.
Despite injuries holding back their potential in October, Hull City have fought doggedly to grind out back-to-back away Championship victories that have helped them stave off the relegation zone after a period of seven defeats in eight outings (W1). A reported 1,500 fans attended an open training session during the week and saw quite a few players returning to partial or full fitness, building anticipation ahead of the visit of title challengers Blackburn Rovers.

Half of their eight defeats this Championship season have been suffered within the space of their five most recent home outings as their loyal fans have been subject to lacklustre defensive displays. Hull are also yet to keep a clean sheet at MKM Stadium, conceding a near league-high 1.75 goals per game across all home fixtures (W4, L4). It does appear, however, that Andy Dawson has the side back in a good attacking groove, scoring seven goals in two matches and potentially setting them up to replicate last season’s shock 2-0 home win against Blackburn.

The visitors started this round with the Championship’s second-longest winning streak (W3) courtesy of a pair of home wins over two clubs occupying similar positions to Hull. That and their victory at Middlesbrough in their previous Championship away trip justified the comments of manager Jon Dahl Tomasson a few weeks ago when he stated they were not “panicking” despite tripping up away to low-lying clubs such as Wigan (L 1-0) and Cardiff (L 1-0).

Those mishaps have held them back from being runaway leaders despite collecting ten wins within 17 rounds of any league campaign for the first time since their historic 1994/95 Premier League title, but by now having secured half-time leads in each of the four wins from their last five league games, they’re at least being rewarded aptly for their strong starts.

Players to watch: Hull could benefit from Óscar Estupiñán scoring after winning the three Championship home games in which he has done so. The challenge for Blackburn’s Scott Wharton, their second scorer in their pair of recent home wins, is to do the opposite, as he has scored away from home just once for any club since the end of 2019/20.

Hot streak: The last 25 Championship games involving either team produced a winner, as did the previous seven H2Hs between the sides.
