Burnley Rotherham prediction 2022-11-02

Burnley vs Rotherham prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2022-11-01 19:45.
For the second time in as many weekends, Burnley came from behind to win a Championship game, snatching a 2-1 victory against Reading thanks to Anass Zaroury’s stoppage time winner. It would perhaps be too soon to say Burnley have all the hallmarks of a side who could be champions come the end of the season, but it’s hard to argue that a 15 match unbeaten league run isn’t impressive (W8, D7).

In fact, Burnley and the Championship go hand in hand in general, with the Clarets impressively losing just one of their last 41 games at second tier level! With Vincent Kompany’s side having already dispatched the two fellow sides who came up from League One last season alongside Rotherham by an aggregate 9-3 scoreline (W2), it would be a huge surprise to see that unbeaten run ended here.

If Burnley are coming into this clash in scintillating form, then Rotherham almost certainly aren't, with no wins in their last three Championship outings (D1, L2). Millers boss Matt Taylor branded it a “difficult afternoon” as his side went down 1-0 to Cardiff City at the weekend, leaving them closer to the relegation zone than the play-offs ahead of the round despite a positive start.

There are signs that Rotherham have been unlucky in that winless run however, with two of those games seeing them net exactly twice. Taylor lamented his side’s inability to string back-to-back performances together and will now hope to avoid a repeat of Saturday’s performance, but with just one win in 14 Championship away games (D7, L6), recording their fourth straight H2H loss against a high-flying Burnley side is suitably reflected in their long match odds.

Players to watch: He may not like it, but Burnley’s Manuel Benson is earning a ‘suber-sub’ tag, coming off the bench to net equalisers in those two recent comeback victories. Rotherham’s four away league goals this term have each been scored by different players. Conor Washington got the last one and his four prior Championship away goals all came after half-time.

Hot stat: Burnley have avoided defeat in four of the five league games they conceded first this season (W2, D2).
