Cremonese AC Milan prediction 2022-11-08

Cremonese vs AC Milan prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2022-11-07 19:45.
While an elusive first Serie A (SA) victory continues to evade Cremonese (D6, L7), there are signs of steady improvement for the newcomers. Cremonese have drawn three of their last four SA matches, with their only defeat coming via a slender 1-0 scoreline at home to Sampdoria last month. The winner in that game arrived beyond the 75th minute, as did three of the four goals they conceded to Napoli in the home game prior, as part of a near-worst total of seven goals conceded that late in SA fixtures.

That leaky defence has been the root cause of Cremonese’s struggles this season, and the relegation-threatened side come into the round having conceded the joint second-most goals in the division (24). That problem is likely to be enhanced here given they saw four goals go past them in both of their only two home SA games against sides currently inside the division’s top five.

That will be welcome news for AC Milan, who bounced back from their 1-2 defeat away to Torino last week by defeating Spezia 2-1 at San Siro on Saturday. The gap to leaders Napoli remains six points, so further slip-ups must be avoided. If their perfect SA record against the league’s bottom-eight clubs (W6) is maintained, this matchup should not present any troubles.

While manager Stefano Pioli can be satisfied with his side’s record of winning five of their last six league matches (L1), Milan’s inability to keep a clean sheet could be a growing concern for the recently re-signed Italian. His team have conceded in eight of their previous nine SA matches, meaning not only have they had to rely heavily on their attack, but Milan have also been involved in more SA matches (ten) with both teams scoring on the day than any other side.

Players to watch: No SA player has won more tackles than all-action Cremonese midfielder Emanuel Aiwum (23), and if playing, he’ll be trying to pay close attention to Milan’s joint-top scorer (five) Rafael Leão. Leão will have extra responsibility in the absence of the suspended Olivier Giroud, but it could be fruitful with his last eight goalscoring appearances all victories.

Hot stat: No side has failed to score in more SA home games than Cremonese (four).
