Union Berlin Augsburg prediction 2022-11-09

Union Berlin vs Augsburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2022-11-08 19:30.
If Union Berlin are to prove their early-season Bundesliga pace-setting wasn’t a fluke, they must bounce back from Sunday’s 5-0 thrashing by Bayer Leverkusen, as two defeats in three league games (W1) has seen them knocked off top-spot. This is still their best-ever Bundesliga start after 13 games (W8, D2, L3), but they’ll want to enter the World Cup break on a high with two games remaining.

Union might be relieved to be back in action at home, where they’re still unbeaten this term in the league (W5, D1) although they’ve only won one of five prior home H2Hs against Augsburg (D3, L1). To improve that record, and ensure they don’t fall any further off the pace at the Bundesliga summit, Union might have to repeat netting exactly twice in each of their last three home Bundesliga games (W3).

Two goals could well be enough to see off struggling Augsburg, who are winless in six (D2, L4) and are starting to look over their shoulder towards the bottom three. Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt followed a familiar pattern as they scored the Bundesliga’s fastest goal of the season at that point (30 seconds) only to fade as the match went on.

The World Cup break might be coming at the right time for them, allowing key players to return from injury in time for the Bundesliga’s resumption. In the meantime though, Augsburg need to try to avoid going three league away games without a win (L2) for the first time since February, which might prove tricky given the hit-and-miss nature of their Bundesliga away form this term (W3, L3).

Players to watch: Union Berlin are yet to lose a league game after Sheraldo Becker found the net (W10, D2) with eight of his 13 Bundesliga goals coming at home. Perhaps happy to be travelling to the German capital, Augsburg’s Florian Niederlechner scored twice in a 2-1 H2H win two seasons ago to make it three goals in ten personal H2Hs.

Hot streak: Augsburg have scored first in each of their last five games, but won none of them (D1, L4).
