Torino Sampdoria prediction 2022-11-09

Torino vs Sampdoria prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2022-11-08 19:45.
Although Torino took a first-half lead in the last round against Bologna, an eventual 1-2 defeat consigned them to an identical 13-game Serie A (SA) start to their previous season (W5, D2, L6). That result came as something of a shock after beating second-placed AC Milan prior, but manager Ivan Jurić stated that his side “are on a path of growth”, with his focus always being on the next game to go.

The hosts will therefore go in search of a positive response against Sampdoria, but with only two wins across their last six home SA H2Hs (D3, L1) it may not be simple. With a mixed bag of SA home form this season (W2, D2, L2), it’s difficult to tell which sort of Torino will show up. Even so, the third-lowest scoring home side in SA, with just four home goals to their name now, have a chance to record successive home league wins for the first time since January.

One month on from the appointment of Dejan Stanković at Sampdoria, it has been a less than impressive showing from his new side in his first SA stint as a manager (W2, D1, L3). His only league win was a narrow 1-0 victory over fellow relegation battlers Cremonese, whilst his only other win came on penalties in the cup after a frustrating draw with second-tier outfit Ascoli.

It continues a disastrous 2022 for I Blucerchiati, who have lost more SA games than any other club this calendar year (W6, D4, L22) and are just two defeats away from equalling the league’s all-time record. Still, the bulk of their minimal improvement under Stanković has primarily been seen away from home, where they have picked up as many points (four) during his three SA away games as they did across the final 12 trips of Marco Giampaolo’s reign.

Players to watch: Aleksey Miranchuk has popped up with crucial goal contributions in Torino’s last two SA victories and will hope to do so again in his first meeting with Sampdoria. Trying to stop him will be Sampdoria defender Omar Colley, who was the unlikely scorer of their only winning league goal this season. Colley has also been booked in three of his last four appearances.

Hot stat: The pre-match favourite has won just two of Sampdoria’s last seven SA matches (D1, L4).
