Leicester Brighton prediction 2023-01-21

Leicester vs Brighton prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-01-20 15:00.
Speculation around the future of manager Brendan Rodgers continues to mount after Leicester City’s 2-0 loss against Premier League (PL) new boys Nottingham Forest preceded audible discontent amongst the Foxes faithful. With Wout Faes the only notable signing made since the end of the 2021/22 campaign, perhaps a rare dive into the transfer market this month would prove fruitful in staving off a relegation battle.

The transfer window being open is rarely a good omen for the Foxes as strangely they’ve picked up just one of a possible 21 points in PL action this season when playing during the transfer window (D1, L6). Breaking that duck on home soil would provide a much-needed lift, especially as another defeat would cement their second run of five or more consecutive league defeats in one season. The last time that happened, Leicester were relegated in 1977/78!

After inflicting one of the worst defeats of Jürgen Klopp’s entire career last time out with a 3-0 win over Liverpool, Brighton & Hove Albion may have dreams of a first ever European qualification. With victories in their games in hand, the Seagulls would soar into a top-five position and considering manager Roberto De Zerbi has overseen five wins from his last seven PL matches after a winless five-game start to his tenure, the sky appears the limit.

A return of just one win across Brighton’s last ten league visits to Leicester is unlikely to dampen the mood as they’re on the cusp of winning a fourth straight away league game for the first time since 2016! They may well need a fistful of goals to achieve that feat though, given that Brighton have kept just one PL away clean sheet in 2022/23 (W5, D1, L3).

Players to watch: Kelechi Iheanacho is the only man to score for Leicester in over seven hours of play, and that was against fourth-tier Gillingham. With rumours of Leandro Trossard’s exit swirling, Brighton may look to Solly March to take centre stage yet again after directly contributing to seven goals across his last five games (G4, A3).

Hot stat: Brighton are yet to draw an away PL game as betting favourites this season (W3, L2).
