Lazio Fiorentina prediction 2023-01-29

Lazio vs Fiorentina prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-01-28 17:00.
An astonishing 4-0 victory over defending champions Milan, even without iconic striker Ciro Immobile, saw Lazio move within a point of second spot in Serie A (SA). Recently linked with a possible move to Tottenham this summer, coach Maurizio Sarri said that it was ‘perhaps the best performance’ since he arrived at Lazio, who are now serious contenders for the UEFA Champions League places.

Lazio are getting ready for a third consecutive home outing and with the previous two ending with a clean sheet victory after leading at half-time, they will feel confident about putting together their first four-game winning streak (at all venues) since April 2021. Curiously, Lazio have only lost to more southerly located teams (Napoli & Salernitana) in all competitions here this term (W9, D3) so the arrival of Fiorentina bodes well.

Particularly as Viola just lost their first SA home match against Torino since 1976, and now travel to the capital with the aim of halting back-to-back defeats ‘to-nil’. This is also the first time Fiorentina have failed to score in consecutive matches since their dreadful run of four back in August, which has led to them being pushed into the bottom half by their Tuscan rivals Empoli!

Facing Lazio doesn’t make good reading for travelling fans as Fiorentina are also on a run of three scoreless H2H defeats, including a 4-0 drubbing at home earlier this campaign. To make matters worse, Viola have also lost each of their last five away H2Hs and have won only twice on the road in SA this term (D2, L5).

Players to watch: Lazio’s Felipe Anderson is in red-hot form, having now scored in a career-high four competitive matches in a row. Giacomo Bonaventura will be looking to make his mark early once again, after scoring each of his three SA goals for Fiorentina this term within the opening 16 minutes!

Hot stat: Lazio remain the only SA team yet to concede in the opening 30 minutes!
