Betis Celta Vigo prediction 2023-02-04

Betis vs Celta Vigo prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-02-03 20:00.
With each of their last four La Liga (LL) contests being settled by a one-goal margin (W2, L2), games are painstakingly close in Real Betis’ push for a third consecutive finish in the European spots. That would be the first time this century that they’ve managed such a feat, though their hopes were dashed a little after a narrow 2-1 defeat against league-leaders Barcelona in midweek.

Surprisingly, it’s at home where Betis are having their biggest struggles, with that defeat stretching their winless LL run at the Estadio Benito Villamarin to four games (D2, L2) – their longest in the competition since 2017/18. But with only LL’s top two suffering fewer home defeats than Betis’ two this season, some might predict a revival against a Celta Vigo side they’ve only lost one home H2H to since 2013 (W3, D3).

That Celta triumph did arrive here only last season (2-0) but with no side scoring fewer away goals in the division (five), it remains to be seen whether a side lingering just one point above the drop zone ahead of the round can again trouble their hosts. Celta shouldn’t be underestimated however, and will arrive boosted by a 1-0 victory over Athletic Club last time out which prompted coach Carlos Carvalhal to insist that “La Liga is much harder than the Premier League.”

The Sky Blues might also be uplifted by an improvement in travelling form, losing only one of their last three LL away fixtures (W1, D1) after succumbing to defeat in the five prior. Celta’s tendency to fade as a game goes on threatens to undo that good work though, with no side conceding more second-half LL away goals than Celta (12) ahead of the weekend.

Key battle: Betis ‘keeper Rui Silva has two clean sheets from his three H2H home appearances, though he might have his hands full here. “Always Iago Aspas to the rescue’’ read one report after Celta’s latest victory, and perhaps with good reason, as three of his nine LL strikes this season have resulted in 1-0 victories.

Hot streak: Celta are yet to score after the 75th minute on their league travels this season.
