QPR Millwall prediction 2023-02-11

QPR vs Millwall prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-02-10 15:00.
Neil Critchley admitted his QPR side were suffering from a “lack of confidence” after their longest winless run for over two years. Since a 1-0 victory over Preston during his first game in charge back in December, the Hoops manager has seen his side tumble out of the top six thanks to a run of seven matches without victory (D5, L2), while they were also dumped out of the FA Cup by League One side Fleetwood.

The arrival of striker Chris Martin therefore gives QPR a timely boost, with the former Norwich man in line to make his debut after joining on a free transfer this week. He’ll be hoping to help his new team end a run of six home matches without a win (D2, L4), a period in which they have scored the first goal on three occasions but failed to keep a single clean sheet.

History dictates the hosts might be able to buck that trend against visitors Millwall, who have not won against their London rivals at Loftus Road since 1989, when the two sides were in the old First Division (D6, L6). A year later, the Lions were relegated from the top flight, but fans are dreaming of a return for the first time since then thanks to a run of just three defeats in their last 17 league outings (W8, D6).

The most recent of those games was a 1-1 draw against Sunderland, which leaves Gary Rowett’s side on the cusp of the top-six. Their improved form away from home has been vital in a charge up the table, with four wins in their last eight games on the road (D1, L3) banishing the memories of a dreadful start to the campaign, when they lost five times in seven outings in all competitions on their travels (D2).

Players to watch: Chris Willock is unbeaten in 16 goalscoring appearances for QPR (W13, D3), including September’s 2-0 win over Millwall in which he netted the opening goal. Lions striker Tom Bradshaw has a strong record when scoring too, four wins from four this season, but may be having cold sweats at the thought of facing QPR, whom he has beaten just once in ten attempts (D2, L7).

Hot stat: QPR have scored the most first-half home goals, 15, and joint-fewest second-half home goals, two, in the Championship this season.
