Almeria vs Betis prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-02-10 15:15.
This Andalusian derby could be a feisty affair with both Almería and Real Betis wounded by recent defeats. Sitting just three points above the drop zone ahead of the round, Almería’s latest setback came in a 2-0 loss at Vallecano, but their home form belies their relegation-threatened status after they lost just one of their last seven home league outings (W5, D1).

That contributed to 86% of their league points being picked up at home – a larger share than any other LL team – and they would be in the league’s top five based on home games only (W6, D1, L3)! Another solid performance should therefore be expected, though they will need to be aware of a drop-off as the game wears on, with only CĂĄdiz conceding more second-half LL goals than AlmerĂa ahead of this round.

Betis boss Manuel Pellegrini might spot that vulnerability when his troops travel east in search of their maiden away win over their hosts (D1, L3). Currently in the bottom three of the four-game LL form table (W1, L3), Pellegrini had previously stated “what we need is goals” – yet despite netting three against Celta Vigo, it still wasn’t enough to stave off a 4-3 defeat.

They may sit outside the European places only by virtue of goal difference, but Pellegrini’s comments have been somewhat vindicated as only two sides have failed to score in more LL away games than Betis’ five so far. The Green and Whites appear to love a derby match, though, which may represent a serious problem for the Almería home guard as the visitors haven’t lost any of their last five top-flight Andalusian derbies (W3, D2).

Key battle: Only Elche have kept fewer shutouts than Almería (one) this league campaign so they might rely on heroics from ‘keeper Fernando Martínez for a positive result. Borja Iglesias represents a dangerous opponent to Martínez, with the forward recording half of Betis’ league away goals (four) from their last ten such outings after striking one past the Almería stopper back in October.

Hot stat: No side has conceded more goals between the 61st-75th minutes than AlmerĂa (eight) this LL season.
