Hertha Berlin Augsburg prediction 2023-02-25

Hertha Berlin vs Augsburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-02-24 14:30.
Hertha Berlin felt hard done by to lose 4-1 to Borussia Dortmund on Sunday, the same scoreline they’d beaten Borussia Mönchengladbach by seven days earlier. As one of five clubs yet to hit the 20-point mark at the bottom of the Bundesliga, a win here over Augsburg, the team immediately above those relegation-threatened sides, would be a huge boost for their survival chances.

That view was echoed by Hertha forward Marco Richter who said: “If we win (against Augsburg) then everything looks completely different”. Hertha supporters let off smoke bombs in Dortmund to protest against a ban on bringing flags and drums to the stadium, but the players need to be fired up for this one as they go in search of their first back-to-back Bundesliga wins at the Olympiastadion since December 2021 following that big win over Gladbach.

Augsburg have alternated between home wins and away defeats in the Bundesliga since the World Cup (W3, L3) but if they’re to buck that trend, they can expect a battle as all seven of their league wins this term came via a one-goal margin (D3, L11). Interestingly, their latest success against Hoffenheim (W 1-0) after they had two goals disallowed was a fifth consecutive Friday night league victory!

But Hertha must rank among their least favourite opponents as they haven’t won any of the last six H2Hs (D1, L5), and have never won one here (D6, L5) so they’ll be looking to avoid more capital punishment. The omens aren’t good though, as they’ve won none of their last six league away fixtures (D1, L5), despite scoring in each of those games.

Players to watch: Hertha’s Lucas Tousart is enjoying his most prolific season with four competitive goals and his strike against Dortmund was his third in the league between the 25th and 50th minute this term. Fredrik Jensen’s late winner against Hoffenheim means Augsburg have won all six of his goalscoring appearances.

Hot stat: Augsburg have collected a league-high average of 2.81 yellow cards per Bundesliga game this term (Hertha: 2.14).
