Hoffenheim Dortmund prediction 2023-02-25

Hoffenheim vs Dortmund prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-02-24 14:30.
After two defeats from his first two games in charge of Hoffenheim, new boss Pellegrino Matarazzo will hope that third time’s the charm against title-chasing Borussia Dortmund. However, the outlook in Sinsheim is rather bleak after a run of 12 competitive games without victory (D2, L10) left them out of the DFB Pokal and, more importantly, at risk of slipping into the bottom-three should they fail to defy the odds here.

A return of eight defeats from nine Bundesliga games as pre-match outsiders this term won’t inspire confidence (W1, L8), nor will Hoffenheim’s run of six straight home games with at least two goals conceded. The Sinsheimers have often held their own against Dortmund in recent history though, drawing five of the last nine home H2Hs (W2, D5, L2), albeit without a clean sheet in the process.

Barely putting a foot wrong in 2023 with eight straight competitive wins, Dortmund’s 4-1 demolition of Hertha Berlin left them tied on points with Union Berlin and bitter rivals Bayern Munich in the top three of the Bundesliga standings. Never before in the three-points-for-a-win era have three sides shared the lead at such a late stage in the season, and with the aforementioned title-chasers playing each other on Sunday, Dortmund will provisionally go top with a victory.

Such an outcome would surprise few as Dortmund are the only side across Europe’s top-ten ranked leagues to have won every single one of their competitive matches this calendar year. Following that up with what would be their seventh straight Bundesliga win would secure their best start to a new year since 2012, the last year in which they lifted the famous Bundesliga shield!

Players to watch: Andrej Kramarić scored Hoffenheim’s first goal in the corresponding fixture last season and has bagged two of their four home league goals in 2023. In the absence of Dortmund’s biggest goal contributor in 2023, Karim Adeyemi (G4, A2), the similarly influential Julian Brandt could step up. Brandt assisted the winner in the reverse and has scored in Dortmund’s last three league wins.

Hot stat: A league-high eight (73%) of Hoffeinheim’s 11 home league games this season saw both teams score.
