Udinese Spezia prediction 2023-02-26

Udinese vs Spezia prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-02-25 17:00.
A run of just one win from eight Serie A (SA) games since the restart of the league has continued Udineseā€™s slide down the table. The Bianconeri have won just one of their last 15 league games (D8, L6) and, should results go against them this weekend, they could find themselves dropping out of the top half of the table altogether.

Three of Udineseā€™s next seven matches will see them face sides currently in the top-six, so getting back to winning ways against relegation-threatened Spezia could prove crucial for Andrea Sottilā€™s men. To do that, the hosts will need to construct a SA win on their own turf for the first time since September (D5, L2), although they have at least managed to score at least once in all of those matches.

Spezia will travel with a new boss, as Leonardo Semplici was appointed to replace Luca Gotti. The Aquilotti will be hoping for a ā€˜new manager bounceā€™ as their miserable SA form since the World Cup break has plunged them into the relegation dogfight (W1, D3, L4). Semplici has been signed on until the end of the season with a very lucrative incentive to turn the club around: a two-year extension automatically triggered if Spezia survive this season.

Just two points separated Spezia from the bottom-three ahead of this round, so a trip to Udinese could prove the perfect tonic as theyā€™ve won all three H2Hs as the away side. They scored at least twice in each of those victories, but a repeat looks unlikely given their misery in front of goal on the road, netting just six away goals in SA football all season.

Players to watch: After finding out his Tigres contract had been terminated when he was locked out of the training ground, new Udinese winger Florian Thauvin will be looking to make an instant impact – particularly as he has lost just one of his last 20 goalscoring appearances (W17, D2). Since moving to Italian football in 2020, Spezia loanee Eldor Shomurodov has seen 12 of his 14 goals arrive after half-time.

Hot stat: Spezia have conceded first in 17 of their 23 SA games this season (W2, D3, L12).
