Real Sociedad Cadiz CF prediction 2023-03-03

Real Sociedad vs Cadiz CF prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-03-02 20:00.
Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil conceded that many of his players were performing at a “lower level” than usual in a surprise loss away to La Liga (LL) relegation contenders Valencia (1-0), which was perhaps a sign that the fatigue of a busy schedule is now beginning to set in. Things aren’t set to get any easier on that front ahead of what Alguacil describes as a “fascinating” Europa League tie with Roma this month, but there are plenty of opportunities for LL points to be gained before and after that European tie.

As the fight for the four UEFA Champions League slots intensifies, Sociedad cannot afford to drop many points in a trilogy of league fixtures against sides, Cádiz (home), Mallorca (away) and Elche (home), that sit tenth or below. Having already dropped points six times against the ten clubs sitting 11th or lower going into this round (W8, D2, L4), it’s fair to say a repeat of their gritty 1-0 win over Cádiz in the reverse H2H cannot be guaranteed.

Cádiz manager Sergio has had five years of misery against Alguacil’s Sociedad that, along with their poor travelling record, threatens to stifle the impact of their excellent work at home in February. Three consecutive wins ‘to nil’ at home have kept them not only away from the relegation zone, but fewer than ten points from the European places on offer.

Sergio said the team is benefiting from “brutal competition” for places amongst the squad, but he also lamented some hot and cold performances that have been illustrated by each of their last 13 LL matches producing a different win-draw-loss result to the previous one. Another pattern that Sergio will welcome ending will be his winless record against Alguacil (D3, L4) – that’s the highest number of games he has overseen against another manager without a victory.

Players to watch: Mikel Oyarzabal has scored each of Sociedad’s last two LL home goals, and also scored twice in each of his last two H2H appearances. After goals in each of Cádiz’s last two home games, Sergi Guardiola will be searching for his first on the road since a win at Espanyol last April.

Hot stat: All but three of the 18 LL games involving either side since the World Cup produced fewer than 2.5 total goals.
