Brest Paris SG prediction 2023-03-11

Brest vs Paris SG prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2023-03-10 20:00.
Loitering dangerously around the drop-zone, Brest need points quickly if they’re to avoid being in the end of season relegation mix. They did pick up three valuable points with a 1-0 victory against Strasbourg last time out, but following that up looks set to be a tough task against a PSG side they haven’t beaten in any of the last 24 H2H meetings across all competitions (D7, 17)!

That run is bookended by 12 successive defeats, but considering Brest have drawn at home this season against four of the five sides they’ve played that are sitting in the top eight ahead of this round (L1), they may feel they can at least be competitive against table-topping PSG. The hosts will undoubtedly be keen to avoid a slow start in search of any upset, particularly as Brest are yet to claim a point from a losing position under new boss Éric Roy.

Don’t expect PSG to be in a generous mood though, especially after yet another failure in the UEFA Champions League in midweek means they now just have Ligue 1 to focus on. For the fifth time in seven seasons, PSG were dumped out in the last 16 of Europe’s top tournament despite their star-studded line-up, and with boss Christophe Galtier refusing to talk about his future, few know what is in store for PSG beyond the end of the season.

Channeling that disappointment now has to be the ultimate aim for PSG, as failure to hold onto their eight-point lead atop of Ligue 1 would simply be catastrophic. On the up side though, there is a little piece of positive history on the line for PSG here, who know they are just two goals away from 3000 in Ligue 1, and considering they’ve scored at least twice in their last six visits to Brest (W6), you’d imagine they’ll be confident of securing that feat in this match.

Players to watch: Franck Honorat was Brest’s hero against Strasbourg, and three of his four goals this term have arrived in the 15 minutes following half-time. Although he is PSG’s outright top-scorer in history, Kylian Mbappé needs just two more goals to overtake Edinson Cavani as the club’s outright top Ligue 1 scorer; he has scored in each of his three previous away appearances against Brest.

Hot stat: PSG have only kept one clean sheet across their last eight Ligue 1 games.
