Millwall Huddersfield prediction 2023-03-18

Millwall vs Huddersfield prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-03-17 15:00.
The run-in to the Championship season promises to be as enticing as ever, and currently Millwall have the largest target on their back considering they occupy the final playoff spot. Gary Rowett’s men have defended the fort of sixth-place amicably recently, with back-to-back wins helping to open up a four-point cushion to seventh place, while losing only once in their last seven matches (W4, D2) shows they’re up for the fight.

The Den has played its part in the Lions’ hunt for play-off football this season, with Millwall suffering just two defeats in their last 14 home outings (W7, D5), most recently beating Swansea 2-1 in midweek. They’ll be looking forward to the weekend’s action then with a prime opportunity to continue their fine form, especially considering 13 of Millwall’s 17 wins this season have come on a Saturday, a joint league-high along with runaway leaders Burnley!

One of Millwall’s Saturday losses did come against their relegation-threatened opponents Huddersfield though, who’ll be desperate to secure their first league double over their hosts since 2014/15 in order to boost their slim survival hopes. The Terriers are now six points adrift of safety after suffering a five-game winless run (D2, L3), although they did manage to break their four-match scoring drought in a 1-1 draw against Norwich on Wednesday by virtue of a Canaries own goal.

Speaking of four-match droughts, Huddersfield have failed to pick up a single point in their last four games on the road, while again failing to find the net. Terriers boss Neil Warnock likely needs to come up with an inspiring team-talk if his team are to come away with anything, but with Huddersfield’s tally of ten points collected away from home being the lowest in the league, this may be a futile exercise.

Players to watch: A fan of a fast start, Millwall’s Zian Flemming has scored his side’s opener in 14 of his last 17 goalscoring outings. Huddersfield will hope Michał Helik can counteract Flemming’s input given he has never lost when scoring during his time in England (W6, D2), including a winner vs Millwall when playing for Barnsley.

Hot streak: Millwall’s last 12 fixtures have all been decided by a one-goal margin or drawn (W6, D3, L3).
