Fulham West Ham prediction 2023-04-08

Fulham vs West Ham prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-04-07 14:00.
Whilst their opponents had to make up a postponed Round 7 match on Wednesday evening, Fulham spent their week dealing with the fallout from last month’s farcical FA Cup quarter-final loss to Manchester United. Manager Marco Silva and star striker Aleksandar Mitrović received heavy fines and bans of two and eight games respectively for their indiscretions, which was the last thing the London club needed after a surprise 2-1 loss away to relegation contenders Bournemouth last weekend.

The gruelling grind of a Premier League (PL) campaign appears to have caught up with the Cottagers, whose bid for a return to European football after a decade-long wait is in dire need of resuscitation following three consecutive PL losses. Fulham’s struggles against the competition’s elite teams have been well documented, but their woes are now widening, with their recent failures against Bournemouth and Wolves (D 1-1) highlighting that nothing can be taken for granted.

Perhaps not even a West Ham United side who were abysmally thrashed 5-1 at home to Newcastle during the week can be taken lightly. Only goal difference kept them above the danger zone going into this round, and with four of the current top five clubs still to be played on the run in, their survival must surely now be under threat.

Manager David Moyes was confident after the loss that he wouldn’t join the list of more than a dozen PL managers to be out the door this season, telling the media the board “are behind me, but if you lose badly like that as a manager you're always in danger”. The last thing he needs right now is his first personal H2H loss to Fulham in 14 competitive matches (W9, D4), but with his side taking points from less than one-third of their PL away trips (W1, D3, L9) this term, it certainly would not surprise.

Players to watch: Fulham could benefit from Manor Solomon reclaiming some of the form that saw him score in five consecutive competitive appearances (W4, D1) earlier in the year. After scoring their opening goal in the reverse H2H, West Ham’s Jarred Bowen has found the net in four of his seven games against Fulham.

Hot stat: The pre-match favourite has won a league-low 32% of West Ham’s PL matches this season (W6, D6, L7).
