Brest Nice prediction 2023-04-16

Brest vs Nice prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2023-04-15 13:00.
Ligue 1’s extended relegation zone this season means the bar for safety will likely be higher than in previous campaigns, with Brest on a mission to ensure they aren’t one of the four sides to drop. They currently occupy the coveted 16th place after avoiding defeat in four of their last five matches (W2, D2) having won more points in those games compared to their ten Ligue 1 matches prior (W1, D4, L5).

The Pirates finally treated the Stade Francis-Le Blé faithful to a win by beating Toulouse 3-1 in their last home game, bringing to an end a difficult run of home results prior (D1, L2). Manager Éric Roy will now prepare his troops to face his former employers Nice, who he managed on 70 occasions and will hope that insider knowledge can help his side improve upon their poor record in the last ten H2Hs (W1, D2, L7).

Nice played out a thrilling 2-2 draw against Swiss side Basel in midweek European action, recovering from a 2-0 loss to table-topping PSG in their last league outing which was their first defeat under Didier Digard (W8, D6 prior). That unbeaten streak isn’t perhaps as glamorous as it sounds considering they’ve failed to win any of their last five Ligue 1 matches (D4, L1), subsequently plummeting to ninth in the standings.

The Eaglets will be desperate for three points here, and winning four of their last eight away matches shows they’re more than capable (D4). At a minimum, they’ll want to preserve their six-game unbeaten streak on their Ligue 1 travels (W3, D3), and you’d back them to do so given they last suffered consecutive league defeats way back in October.

Key battle: Brest’s Steve Mounié and Nice’s Gaëtan Laborde seem to have a love affair with each other’s teams. Mounié’s four Ligue 1 goals against Nice is the most he’s scored against a single opponent, and Laborde returns the favour as his tally of six against Brest in all competitions makes them his joint-most profitable opponent (tied with three other teams).

Hot stat: No team has drawn more Ligue 1 matches in 2023 than Brest and Nice’s joint-highest tally of six (tied with Reims) prior to the weekend.
