Cremonese Verona prediction 2023-04-30

Cremonese vs Verona prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-04-29 13:00.
After their Coppa Italia dreams ended at the semi-final stage, Serie A (SA) survival is now all that relegation battling Cremonese have left to play for. Eight points adrift of safety with just seven SA games remaining, the prospects of that appear bleak, but hope perhaps comes in the form of hosting Hellas Verona as Cremonese have won four of the last eight home league H2Hs (D2, L2).

Having also won two of their last four home league games (L2), Cremonese should return to Stadio Giovanni Zini with confidence of making the next step in perhaps pulling off a great escape. They’ll certainly have to plug their leaking defence, with their 25 home SA goals conceded this term the most in the division, and with 15 of those coming after the break, don't be surprised to see Cremonese struggle as the match grows old.

In a spot of bother themselves, Verona come into this clash just one place above their next opponents, but seven points better off and far closer to safety. A visit to Lombardy doesn’t bode too well for Verona when considering they have lost five of their last six SA away games against sides from Lombardy, while a failure to score in four of those matches only serves to compound their misery.

It’s hard to see things getting much better now, with Verona currently in the midst of a 16 match winless run in SA away games (D7, L9). Four of the last five games in that run saw Verona fail to score, so whilst it may be difficult to see where any inspiration of a victory here comes from, they can perhaps take heart from the fact boss Marco Zaffaroni has won two of his three managerial H2Hs against Cremonese, including the reverse fixture (2-0).

Players to watch: Cyriel Dessers was Cremonese’s last match winner, with his solitary goal serving as his third scoring appearance from five in which he has opened the scoring. On the contrary, Davide Faraoni is the only Verona player to score across their last five away league games, but his last three goals have all come in losing causes.

Hot stat: Cremonese have led at half-time just twice this SA season, the least frequent of all clubs in the division (HT: D14, L15).
