Angers Troyes prediction 2023-05-27

Angers vs Troyes prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2023-05-26 19:00.
With nothing left to play for, already relegated Angers will be looking to finally give their fans something to cheer about in their final home game of the campaign. The Black and Whites, who will finish rock bottom of the division regardless of the outcome of their last two fixtures, will return to Ligue 2 after eight years in the top flight thanks to picking up a paltry 15 points from their 36 league games so far.

One of those did come in their last match, a 2-2 draw away against Reims, which did at least end a run of five successive defeats. There’s no guarantee of a continuation on their homecoming though, as Alexandre Dujeux’s side have the worst home record in the entire division, managing only two wins in 18 attempts (D3, L13), which is also their lowest total of league victories across the course of a campaign at Stade Raymond Kopa this century.

Perhaps a clash with another relegated side in Troyes will give Angers a chance to improve upon that dismal record given their visitors are without a victory in 19 Ligue 1 outings (D5, L14), the longest current winless run across Europe’s top-five divisions. Such form highlights why ESTAC will be returning to the second tier after just a two-season stay in the top flight, and their misery doesn’t stop there as they are currently on course to post their second lowest points total of the century.

Encouragingly, manager Patrick Kisnorbo insists he did at least see some improvement in his side as they ended a three-match losing streak with a 1-1 draw against Strasbourg last weekend. The boss saw his side have goalkeeper Gauthier Gallon sent off in the second half, but his gutsy team valiantly battled from behind to earn a point for the fourth time in their last 11 outings.

Key battle: Angers goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni is aiming for his first clean sheet and win against Troyes (D1, L2), with both teams scoring in each of those three H2Hs. He will be looking to thwart ESTAC’s Rony Lopes, who netted against Strasbourg and has seen four of his six goals this term come in games that ended level.

Hot stat: Angers have scored exactly once in ten of their last 11 home games across all competitions.
