Liechtenstein Slovakia prediction 2023-06-20

Liechtenstein vs Slovakia prediction: EUROPE: Euro – Qualification betting tips on match 2023-06-19 18:45.
It looks highly likely that Liechtenstein are set for another battle to avoid the wooden spoon having started their UEFA European Championship Qualifying (ECQ) Group J campaign with three straight defeats. Konrad Fünfstück couldn’t bring the new manager bounce but his first game in charge at least limited the losing margin in a 2-0 defeat to Luxembourg on Saturday, after they conceded 11 goals in the two games prior.

Another defeat would equal the microstate’s longest-ever losing streak (17), and avoiding that fate largely depends on finding the back of the net as Liechtenstein have picked up points in each of the last five home ECQ matches in which they scored (W3, D2) – although they’re currently on a seven-match scoreless streak dating back to June 2022!

Slovakia boosted their chances of reaching a third consecutive Euros finals with a 2-1 win in Iceland on Saturday. While they are almost certain to stay in the top-two places at the end of this June leg, anything less than a win over the basement team could complicate their chances of progression. They may have only drawn with Luxemburg in March, but Slovakia will fancy their chances of picking up full points here, which would also mark the first time since June 2015 that they have won three consecutive ECQ matches during regular time.

The visitors are yet to win an away H2H (D2, L2) but the last of those games came more than a decade ago. Recent ECQ away form has been much more encouraging for Slovakia (W4, L1), and having scored first in each of those five matches, they’ll certainly be confident of further success on their travels.

Players to watch: A goal from Dennis Salanović could be a good omen for Liechtenstein as they have lost just once in his four goalscoring appearances (W2, D1). That record could be in jeopardy if Marek Hamšík finds the net for Slovakia, as the Falcons have won each of the seven ECQ matches in which he scored.

Hot stat: Slovakia have won all seven H2Hs with a clean sheet when they scored first.
