Ipswich Leeds prediction 2023-08-26

Ipswich vs Leeds prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-08-25 14:00.
Seeking to end more than two decades of top-flight absence, Ipswich have already matched their perfect three-game start of 1999/2000 – a season which culminated in promotion to the Premier League (PL) via the play-offs. But things could still get better for Kieran McKenna’s men, as another clean sheet would mark their first hat-trick of shutouts in the Championship since March 2013.

The Tractor Boys will now be looking to win their first four games of a league season for the first time since 2017/18. And while Leeds certainly represent a step up in the calibre of opponents given they were only relegated from the top-flight last season, Ipswich have serious momentum on their side, after impressively winning ‘to-nil’ by a multi-goal margin in eight of their previous nine home league games in any tier.

By contrast, Leeds are winless in the Championship so far (D2, L1) this term, and remain in a morale crisis with Wilfried Gnonto, Luis Sinisterra and Helder Costa all reportedly training away from the main group. That said, a win here – which would be only their second at this venue in the Championship (W1, D2, L9) – will see them better the four-game tally that manager Daniel Farke had in both of his promotion campaigns with Norwich in recent years.

Leeds’ current situation could be a great deal worse too, with the Whites rescuing their only points to date via goals beyond the 70th minute. However, the latter reaches of play have mainly been their enemy on the road lately, as they’ve been breached in the 90th minute or later in three of their last four road trips!

Players to watch: Conor Chaplin scored the winner for Ipswich last time out (1-0 vs QPR) – seven of his 11 prior home match openers with the Suffolk outfit have proven decisive. As for the visitors, Georginio Rutter is likely to start up front once more – he’s seen half of his six most recent senior-level goals arrive between the 75th-80th minute.

Hot stat: Five of the last six H2Hs held at Portman Road have seen both teams score.
