Granada CF Mallorca prediction 2023-08-26

Granada CF vs Mallorca prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-08-25 17:30.
La Liga (LL) new boys Granada have faced a baptism of fire so far, with a pair of comprehensive defeats and the sale of their only scorer, Samu, to the side he scored against, Atlético Madrid! Combine that with the fact that last season’s Segunda División Golden Boot winner, Myrto Uzuni (G23), is yet to score from four goal attempts, and question marks start to arise over where Granada’s scoring threat will come from!

Granada did achieve an unbelievable seventh-placed finish in their previous LL season which directly followed promotion, but they’ll need to get some points on the board quickly if they are to retain hopes of a repeat. An encounter with Mallorca could be just what they need then, as Granada have won each of the last three home H2Hs and even posted a pair of 3+ goal margin victories over them in their last relegation season.

After posting their highest finish (ninth) in over a decade last season, Mallorca themselves have had a torrid time in the opening two rounds (D1, L1), but alarm bells may not be ringing just yet as it wasn’t until round three that they posted their first win of 2022/23. The €22.00m departure of key man Kang-in Lee has certainly hampered their start to the season, with the subsequent arrivals his sale has funded needing time to gel.

Picking up that elusive first victory on the road will most certainly be easier said than done, with Mallorca collecting just one victory from their last 13 away league games (W1, D2, L10). That’s not to mention that seven of the ten defeats during that run came without reply, whilst eight saw them concede at least two goals, so the Pirates really need to batten down the hatches.

Players to watch: If not Uzuni, Granada will hope former Real Madrid man José Callejón can notch a third straight scoring appearance against Mallorca since he left Real Madrid a decade ago. The visitors will be hoping €7.50m man Cyle Larin can get off the mark, although their new striker only won three of his eight scoring appearances for now-relegated Valladolid last term (W3, D1, L4).

Hot stat: All but one of Granada’s last ten conceded goals in competitive action came after half-time.
