Heerenveen Sparta Rotterdam prediction 2023-08-27

Heerenveen vs Sparta Rotterdam prediction: NETHERLANDS: Eredivisie betting tips on match 2023-08-26 14:45.
SC Heerenveen can be proud to be one of the four Eredivisie clubs to have won both of their first two games of the competition. Unlike many other clubs in the division, Heerenveen have managed to retain a large part of last season’s strongholds. The attackers of the Frisian club have been careful with their chances and Andries Noppert has led the way, illustrated by their 2-0 win over Utrecht in which both teams fired in an equal number of shot attempts (12) and shots on goal (six).

Together with PSV and Fortuna Sittard, Heerenveen are also part of an elite group of clubs to have conceded just one goal so far. There are therefore sufficient reasons to be facing Sparta Rotterdam with utmost confidence, even though the club has had trouble with this particular matchup in recent years. Heerenveen scored only one single goal across their last four matches against Sparta and were unable to win any of the last five editions (D3, L2).

Last season seemed to be a succession of one highlight after another, but their home game against Heerenveen will not soon be forgotten. Their clash in April ended in a 4-0 victory despite the expected goals count being in favour of Sparta by a slim 0.29 to 0.27 margin. That was perhaps the most iconic fixture of a campaign in which everything they touched seemed to turn into gold.

Sparta themselves have managed to maintain a strong portion of their core players and has certainly begun the new season with merit. In their opening round they got the better of Zwolle 2-1 before holding Dutch champions Feyenoord to a 2-2 draw. It was Canadian international Charles-Andreas Brym who scored the first two goals for the club.

Players to watch: Sparta’s Vito van Crooij scored two goals and an assist in his previous match against Heerenveen. More recently, Heerenveen player Osame Sahraoui was on target in the first two rounds of competition.

Hot streak: Sparta have been level or in front at half-time in each of their last 18 Eredivisie matches.
