Udinese Frosinone prediction 2023-09-02

Udinese vs Frosinone prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-09-01 16:30.
Udinese partly made up for their opening 3-0 Serie A (SA) defeat to Juventus by securing a 1-1 draw against Salernitana last time out, doing so without their league top-scorer from last season, Beto, who joined Everton this week. Bianconeri fans will take some comfort that Lazar Samardžić stepped up in his place to grab their crucial goal, and he’s assured everyone that despite his failed transfer to Inter he is “happy” to still be an Udinese player.

Certainly happy about having him back in the squad is coach Andrea Sottil who will be eager to gain their maiden victory this term, as the last time Udinese failed to win their opening three league games was in 2020/21, when they eventually recorded their lowest points tally across the last five years (40). But having won three of the last five H2Hs (D1, L1), the hosts will hope that elusive win is on its way.

SA new boys Frosinone started strong once again this past weekend, taking the lead for a second successive league clash, but importantly this time they held on for their first three points in a surprise victory over Atalanta (2-1). Their third stint in Italy’s top tier has started much better than the previous two, in which the Ciociari failed to secure a victory prior to round six.

Travelling has always been a problem for Frosinone in SA as they’ve lost 25 of their 38 combined away top-flight matches (W6, D7). To counter that, the visitors will hope they can translate last season’s strong Serie B away form and continue a fine record of having not tasted defeat in a single away game this calendar year (W5, D4).

Players to watch: Udinese’s Samardžić has scored six of his eight SA goals after the break, whilst Frosinone’s great starter Abdou Harroui has netted inside the opening ten minutes in both SA rounds this year.

Hot stat: Five of the six competitive matches involving these teams this season have seen at least one goal inside the opening 10 minutes.
